Seems to me that we are all blessed with limbs that help us discover this beautiful world around us and I’m blessed with hands that can create objects such as pottery and my love of lighthouse making. So seeing a young couple with an infant with severe cerebral palsy on the local news made me realise just how lucky I am. All parents want is for their child to be happy and healthy or is it the other way around?
I plan to make Ayla Mae a model lighthouse for her to keep when its finished but in it making raising much needed monies to get her treatment that will possibly enable her to walk…something we all take for granted everyday . The project involves making a set of cylinders stacked and joined together! on the outside specially carved sponsored bricks with donators initials will be carved into them and applied. Donations of £3 per initialled brick could raise as much as £2.5 – £3K as there are as many as 1000 bricks per lighthouse that I have made previously.
A webpage will be set up soon for donations to this appeal for help to raise funds to reach a target of £100k to send little Ayla to USA for treatment that may enable her to walk.
